A funeral service is a cremation with a formal farewell at a chapel or venue. Family and friends gather, share what they meant, listen to the music they loved, and watch a slideshow we coordinate if you choose to include one.

We take care of the venue, arrangements and cremation, while coordinating any additional elements you require, including the order of service, audio visual support, flowers, celebrant and catering. You bring the people and the stories that honour a life well lived.

The fixed price is confirmed before we start. Our funeral team keeps the day coordinated from your first call.

How it works

    Any time of day or night, 365 days a year. Choose the Funerals option when prompted; we’ll listen, answer your questions, and give you a clear quote.

  2. We take your loved one into our care.

    Our funeral team coordinates the transfer from the place of passing to an accredited mortuary facility, carefully and promptly.

  3. We arrange the service.

    We book the chapel or venue, manage the arrangements and cremation, and coordinate any additional elements you require. Order of service, audio visual support, flowers, celebrant, catering, and other extras are yours to choose.

  4. We hold the ceremony.

    Family and friends gather to say goodbye. The cremation follows privately. Ashes come back to you within two to three weeks.

Are the memorial services all-inclusive?

Yes. A standard memorial service package includes:

  • professional service
  • transportation and mortuary care
  • an MDF coffin with silver-coloured handles
  • cremation and return of ashes
  • organization of all paperwork and permits
  • a personalized service in a chapel or church

Are the memorial services customisable?

Yes. We offer a range of optional additions and customisations.

⁠As part of the service, we can arrange bespoke funeral stationery, professionally crafted photo presentations, funeral flowers, a civil celebrant to MC, order of service booklets, a dove release and more. We can also arrange a viewing before the service and catering afterwards.

Yes. At Willed, our core mission is to make end of life planning simple, affordable and accessible for all Australians. Cremation in combination with a memorial service is a more affordable option, and gives families more time to plan a memorial service that suits them and their loved one.

What's the difference between a funeral and a memorial service?

This is a very common question. In Australia, a service is the most common way to farewell a loved one. The key difference between a funeral and a memorial service is the presence of the deceased.

⁠At most funerals the deceased's body is present, in either a closed casket or an open casket. In contrast, the deceased's body is not usually present at memorial service. This is because memorial services are typically held in the days, weeks or even months after cremation.

Can I preplan a funeral service?

Yes. We work with many families who find themselves caring for a loved one who is approaching the end of their life. In these situations, it can be comforting to know that everything is prepared, saving you time and stress, when the time does eventually come.

Some people, for whom death is imminent, find participating in the planning process to be quite empowering. Our caring and compassionate team also supports many bereaved families, arranging the cremation and memorial only once their loved one has passed.

What happens to my loved one after I call Willed?

Once you let us know your loved one has passed, your dedicated arranger will coordinate the collection and transfer of your person into the care of our accredited partner mortuary facility. Our team will usually arrive within two hours of your call, depending on where your loved one has passed. Once at the mortuary facility, they will be respectfully prepared for cremation.

At the same time, your dedicated arranger will coordinate the memorial service you have planned together.
