What do most people not realise about arranging a funeral until they have to do it?

What a lot of people don't realise when they're making funeral arrangements is how involved it can be. Some people come to me and they think that it'll be over in an hour. And it will be done, they won't have to think about it again. It's a little bit more involved. Obviously, we're planning a service. We're planning a loved one's farewell. So there are a lot of things to think about. Obviously a funeral director will guide you through it, but it does take a little bit of time and it does go beyond that single meeting. So there will be follow up calls and there'll be follow up emails. Just getting everything perfectly right, following up any printing you know, photo tributes, music all things like that are things that families don't think are that involved but can be quite involved. Also meeting with the celebrant, going through eulogy, speakers, anything special that they'd like to do for the service also adds extra additional things to think about as well. So I think in general, people can be a little bit overwhelmed by the process. But your funeral director will guide you through the process and make it a lot smoother for you.
